Swadharma - If fragrance is the essence of a rose, what is yours?
A flitting hummingbird moving from flower to flower, but in a brief time having the ability to absorb the nectar from the flower and be able to illuminate the surroundings with a melodious hum and graceful beauty, is the image that resonates with my life the most.
I have been blessed with a life that has taken me places across the world and like the proverbial hummingbird I have been able to assimilate the learnings from the wide swath of associations and experiences.
A life established in religion and spirituality, my upbringing always inspired me to celebrate the conversations of the “why”, the “what”, and the “how”.
My academic and work-life led me on the path of life sciences and Biotechnology. I lived and worked across the US, India, and Germany and spent years understanding and collaborating with brilliant thinkers and scientific minds. This has given me the scientific temperament and the muscle to seek logical explanations for everything. While my scientific career gave me tremendous satisfaction intellectually, I yearned to go deeper to understand this life. This led me to study the Scriptures of timeless Eastern Civilization like Srimad Bhagawad Geeta, Upanishads, Yoga, Ayurveda, and music, only to find that everything is interrelated and the goal of all these paths is Self-actualization or awakening to an experience of Bliss that is in each one of us, no matter where and how we are.
A mother of two young boys and having the experience of two decades of living and working across three continents, I have been inclined to go back and study our scriptures and to essentially find the connection between human well-being and the knowledge and wisdom of the ages. The wisdom of these timeless scriptures and postulates can make our lives wholesome and meaningful. It is this quest that has drawn me to create a platform where we can all come together and discuss, learn, share, and collaborate.
The common hum of the hummingbirds in one platform engaged and partaking in the nectar of knowledge and resonating as one with the universe.
